brendon shane kiersted was born on november 17, 1988, the second child to stephen kiersted and his lovely wife joyce (smithson) kiersted. he has an older brother by four years, dennis, currently attending nyu and residing in manhattan. brendon, meanwhile, has decided to stay in philly, in a decision he calls "trying to find [himself]", a decision everyone else calls "being a lazyass". he barely graduated high school and his interests lie outside of anything he could learn in a classroom; rather, his talents are far removed from anything academic, although if he was asked to pinpoint any of said talents, he would be at a loss for words. he isn't particuarly fond of animals - his only claim to wildlife lies in the small pink and green spotted lizard (of undetermined species) that hangs out in his bathroom - but he doesn't particularly hate them either; he's actually fond of eating them. he's nearsighted and wears glasses (and sometimes contacts) but when dennis comes to visit, he tends to wear neither, saying he is saving his brain from having to deal with the horror that is his brother's face. his father is the chief of staff of the children's hospital of philadelphia after having served on the board for fifteen years and his mother is what might be considered a socialite by easy standards; she makes appearances when she's required but in her downtime, she and stephen rarely speak these days and have had separate bedrooms for the last few years. when he's not busy listening to his mother rambling drunkenly on the phone to one of her three sisters or listening to his father mumbling something about another late night at the office, brendon spends his time watching tv and listening to music and while he considers himself a homebody, he does enjoy a night on the town a couple of times a week. regardless of his laziness, he's probably something of a survivor, surviving the city and his family and his brother's ugly face, but all of that is really neither here nor there, not for a boy who doesn't have a clue what tomorrow, or the rest of his life, holds in store for him.
